With 21 players from the local league and without any of its figures from Europe, the Mexican team announced on Wednesday its call for the friendly on August 31 against Paraguay at the Mercedes Benz stadium in Atlanta, United States.
In the list presented by the coach Gerardo ‘Tata’ Martino, the Rayados del Monterrey are the team that contributes the most players with four, followed by the Chivas de Guadalajara and the Tuzos del Pachuca with three values.
The Águilas del América contribute striker Henry Martín, leader in individual scoring in the Apertura-2022 tournament of Mexican soccer, and Emilio Lara, a 20-year-old defender who received his first call-up to the senior team.
Included in this list were 12 players who won the bronze medal at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games with Mexico: goalkeeper Luis Malagón, defenders César Montes and Jesús Angulo, midfielders Carlos Rodríguez, Luis Romo, Sebastián Córdova, Luis Romo and Fernando Beltrán, and forwards Uriel Antuna, Alexis Vega, Eduardo Aguirre and Henry Martín.
