The Senate of the province of Buenos Aires approved a project that promotes signaling the educational institutions that ex-combatants of the Malvinas War have attended.

In the year of the 40th anniversary of the war, the project seeks to incorporate the Falkland Islands agenda into the educational system of the province.

Last April the initiative of the deputy of the Front of All Juan Miguel Gómez Parodi It had been approved in the lower house and today, with the sanction of senators, it became law.

The proposal seeks to signpost public educational institutions at all levels, be they state or private management, in which it is verified that students who later fought in the Malvinas have attended them.

The project proposes that the signaling be done through the “placement of commemorative plaques, tiles, murals, permanent photographic exhibitions, names of classrooms, patios, gymnasiums”.

It also promotes “the realization of educational activities aimed at raising awareness about what happened in the war for the territorial claim of the Malvinas Islands” and proposes that they be planned with the intervention of the student centers.

Along these lines, and as an example, it is suggested to develop “talks, workshops, seminars, film debates or any other form of artistic or pedagogical expression”.
