The Communities of Las Tablas, La Mesa, Guabito, in the District of Changuinola, province of Bocas del Toro, will have a New Drinking Water System after the best value tender was held, with a reference price of 49 millions of dollars.
According to the authorities of the Institute of National Aqueducts and Sewers (IDAAN), this Wednesday the act of opening envelopes was carried out, for this project of “Study, Design, Construction, Operation, Maintenance and Financing of the New Potable Water System, which will benefit to 28,884 inhabitants for the year 2040.
Only one company presented a proposal, complying with the previous parameters; it is the PTAP Las Tablas Consortium, made up of the companies Constructora Urbana, SA and Toronto Global Holdings Corp.
During the act that took place virtually through the Zoom application, Lcda. Yazury Sánchez, Head of Purchasing, Lcdo. Yurik Cerrud, lawyer from the Purchasing Department, the Manager of the Projects Unit, Omar Cohen, Rosmery Ávila, lawyer from the Projects Unit and Lcda. Yaneth Díaz, Procurement Specialist of the Projects Unit.
Authorities from the province were also present, such as the Governor in charge, Eleazar Gómez, Benicio Robinson, President of the Assembly’s Budget Commission, and the deputy, Abel Becker.
After the public act, it was explained to the only proponent that it will be up to the Evaluation Commission to verify the validity of the documents to continue with the corresponding process and that they will have three (3) business days after the act to correct those that have been presented in the proposal.
