Santo Domingo – The General Director of the Emergency Operations Center (COE)Today, Juan Manuel Méndez, together with other authorities, made report number two of the Christmas Operation “Awareness for Life, Christmas and New Year 2021-2022”.
He indicated in it that four fatalities have been registered inside the road safety device and another six outside it, for a total of 10 deaths, all due to traffic accidents. The operation ends today at six in the afternoon.
81 incidents were reported on the roads, 62 of them involved motorcycles, nine light vehicles, eight collisions, as well as a heavy vehicle and a bus.81 traffic accidents
In the accidents registered in different streets, avenues and highway of the national territory, 97 people were also affected.
The data, provided during the press conference corresponding to bulletin # 2 of the Emergency Operations Center (COE) also reveal that 165 people were intoxicated by alcohol.
Within this group, 11 were minors between the ages of 12 and 17. Regarding food poisoning, the COE registered about 63 citizens.
The COE reported that the National District, Santo Domingo, Puerto Plata Santiago and La Vega are the boundaries that have reported the most cases.
Likewise, in the second bulletin of phase one of the Christmas operation “Awareness for Life, Christmas and New Year 2021-2022” it is recorded that 2,398 people were assisted on the roads and some 1,849 received medical assistance.
The second part of the Christmas operation, “Awareness for Life, Christmas and New Year 2021-2022” will begin next Thursday, December 30 at 2:00 in the afternoon and will end on January 1, 2022 at 6:00 pm.
