ECLAC improves to 1.9% expectation for Mexico's GDP; will not yet recover pre-pandemic levels

The mexican economy will register a growth of 1.9% this year, according to forecasts of the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC).

this forecast contrasts with the 1.7% estimated by themselves in Aprilremains far from the 2.9% projected in January and leaves Mexico among the 16 economies in the region that have failed to recover pre-pandemic levels.

At a press conference at the Commission’s headquarters in Santiago de Chile, the Acting Secretary, Mario Cimol He stressed that if the economies do not meet the structural conditions to stimulate investment, we run the risk of not improving, not generating growth and we will not have the capacity to create jobs.
