The Federal Police (PF) makes today (23) operation against a criminal association specializing in international human trafficking. According to the PF, the group enticed people in Rio of Januarywith the aim of exploiting them sexually.
The PF began investigating the group after a victim of the gang managed to escape. The woman had been lured by an agent in Búzios, in the Lagos Region, with the promise of a job in Italy.
She had all expenses with airfare and passport issuance paid by the group. However, upon arriving in the Italian city of Empoli, instead of the promised work, the victim was placed in private prison and forced to prostitute herself daily.
The victim managed to escape and the case was discovered by the PF. Police suspect the group is linked to the Italian mafia and also use victims as “mules” (people who transport drugs) for international trafficking.
in the action of todaycalled Operation Lenocinium, a preventive arrest warrant and three search and seizure warrants are being carried out in the city of Búzios, which were issued by the 1st Federal Court of São Pedro da Aldeia.
