Ernesto Bacallao, soloist of the Aragón Orchestra, dies in Havana

Cuban singer Ernesto Bacallao, soloist with the Aragón Orchestra, died yesterday Monday in Havana, according to what the group announced in the social networks. She was 64 years old.

Son of the singer and composer Rafael “Felo” Bacallao Hernández, founder of the emblematic orchestra, Ernesto Bacallao joined the Aragón in 1993.

Together with the Orquesta Aragón, Bacallao received numerous awards and recognitions, including nominations for the Grammy Awards in 2001 and 2002. In 2006, the album Cuba sings to Serratin which he participated, earned a Latin Grammy nomination.
