A cargo with a thousand tons of food donated by Caribbean countries arrived today at the port of Cienfuegos for distribution to consumers in the province of the same name, according to local television.
According to a report from the Noticiero del Mediodía, the shipment is made up of rice, pasta, sugar and cans of sardines and will reach more than 148 thousand nuclei of that demarcation located in the south-central part of Cuba.
The donation arrived at the port of the provincial capital on patrol ship 391, assigned by the Revolutionary Navy (MGR) to support the transport of supplies and supplies during the pandemic from various destinations and in open defiance of the United States blockade.
The Ministries of the Revolutionary Armed Forces, Transportation and Domestic Trade also participated in the transfer and unloading.
The cargo was received by the head of the MGR, Rear Admiral Carlos Duque, and the highest authority of the military region in the province, Brigadier General Lázaro Calzada, and other representatives of the local government.
