The Attorney General’s Office Mexico reported this Friday of the arrest of the former head of the former Attorney General’s Office (PGR) Jesús Murillo Karam, linked in the case of the disappearance of the 43 Mexican students from Ayotzinapa.

Their arrest took place after the Commission for Truth and Access to Justice in the Ayotzinapa case, of the current Mexican Ministry of the Interior, pointed out that the disappearance of the students, in 2014, was a “state crime” in which Authorities at all levels were involved and there are no indications that they are alive, according to an agency report EFE.

Who was head of the PGR during the Government of Enrique Peña Nieto (2012-2018) was arrested at his home in the Mexican capital around noon, and this Saturday he had to testify before a judge for his alleged responsibility in the case.

The judge will define whether his arrest proceeds according to law, points out the Spanish media, according to which Murillo Karam is accused of the alleged crimes of forced disappearance and torture, among others.

On September 26, 2014, students from the Ayotzinapa rural teacher’s school disappeared on their way to Mexico City to participate in a demonstration for the October 2 massacre of students in the plaza of the three cultures, in Tlatelolco.

According to the controversial version of the Government of Enrique Peña Nieto (2012-2018), the so-called “historical truth”, corrupt police officers detained the students and handed them over to the Guerreros Unidos cartel, which murdered and incinerated them in the Cocula garbage dump and threw the remains in the San Juan River, remember EFE.

The López Obrador Administration has denied this “truth”, agreeing with relatives and with the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights (IACHR) and its Interdisciplinary Group of Independent Experts (GIEI), which pointed out that the bodies could not be burned in that place. .

According to this latest report, “there are elements” for the judicial authorities to continue the investigations against at least 33 people.
