Accused in Cattleya assure alleged victims were prostitutes

Santo Domingo – Defendants in the case Cattleya they ensured that the Public ministry he is misrepresenting the facts to validate his version of human trafficking, when in reality the alleged victims were prostituting themselves voluntarily.

The lawyers say that of the 80 victims that the authorities claimed to have, they currently only have 22.

The main accused of the sexual exploitation network called Cattleya, José Miguel Michel Guridis, assured that the alleged victims rescued by the Public Ministry came and left the country of their own free will.

According to Michel, the Public Ministry is holding the alleged victims and threatening them so that they support the theory that they have presented in the case.

For his part, attorney Wilkin Sánchez reported that of the 80 alleged victims rescued by the prosecution body, 58 have withdrawn from participating as plaintiffs.

This Friday, the defendants in the Cattleya case virtually witnessed the interrogation by the Public Ministry of five of the foreign women who were allegedly forced into prostitution, who were cross-examined by their lawyers.

It will be next Friday when the request for a coercive measure against those involved in the case will be aired at the Permanent Attention Office of the National District.
