The Cuban health authorities reported the detection of 74 new cases of coronavirus at the close of this Friday, of which more than a third correspond to the eastern province of Holguin.
This territory reported 28 infections in nine of its municipalities, among which the main city was the most affected with 12, according to the most recent party of the Ministry of Public Health (MINSAP).
Of the rest of the Island, Sancti Spíritus (14) also exceeded ten cases, while Mayabeque and Isla de la Juventud did not report patients.
In total, 1,832 samples were analyzed during the day, and among the infected people, six were asymptomatic.
Until midnight on Friday, 541 people remained hospitalized for COVID-19, of which 331 were confirmed active. Among these, two patients are in critical condition and three were in serious condition, according to the Minsap.

As for the new cases, 54 were contacts of other patients already confirmed and in 20 the source of infection could not be specified.
By sex, 43 correspond to females 43 and 31 to males, while by age groups those under 20 years of age were the most affected, with (41. The rest was distributed among people between 20 and 39 years of age (16), from 40 to 59 years (4) and 60 years and over (13).
According to the Minsap, there were no deaths on the day from COVID-19, with which the official number of fatalities remained at 8,529, for a lethality of 0.77%.
In addition, 87 medical discharges were given during the day, with which those recovered represent 99% of the 1,109,911 patients registered by the authorities since the start of the pandemic.
