The candidates for governor Rodrigo Garcia, from the São Paulo pra Frente coalition (PSDB and Citizenship Federation, Avante, MDB, Patriota, União, Podemos, PP and Solidariedade), Tarcísio de Freitas, from the São Paulo Pode Mais coalition (Republicans, PL , PSD, PTB, PSC and PMN), Altino de Melo Prazeres Júnior (PSTU), Antônio Jorge Filho (DC), Lúcia França (Deputy of the Brazilian Federation of Hope PT/PCdoB/PV), Vinícius Lazzer Poit (Novo), and representatives Vivian Mendes (UP), Renan Lira da Silva (PCB).

“TRE has established a program against disinformation and we have several measures to check networks and with collaborators. But this work without the participation of the actors of the election that are the candidates, the electoral cables and co-religionists would be innocuous. So I am calling the attention of society in general and political parties so that they also participate in this process of combating disinformation that will ultimately benefit all of them because we will have a more peaceful and peaceful election,” said Galizia.

According to the president of the court, with the agreement signed, the candidates assume a commitment to support the electoral process and the Brazilian electronic voting system. “It is an incentive to hold elections without using information whose veracity has not been verified and without evidence-free attacks on the electronic voting system. It’s a compliment to our system.”

Galizia stressed that supervision already exists throughout the electoral process and the signing of this term does not affect or change what is already in force in the law. “By making this commitment, there is the expectation that they will comply with what is in the law. What is provided for in this agreement is compliance with electoral legislation. It has a very important symbolic effect of encouraging the population as a whole, and not just the candidates, not to spread fake news,” she highlighted.
