Meanwhile he barrel of petroleum is maintained from US$85.00, the Government will continue the fuel subsidy, since that is how it is defined in the State subsidy structure, said yesterday the Minister of Industry and Commerce, Victor -Ito- Bisonó.
Yesterday a barrel of Texas oil closed at US$90.50, up 2.7%.
“As long as a barrel of oil remains between US$85.00 and US$115, we are going to maintain a subsidy, due to budget savings. The subsidy has already reached US$40 billion in the year”, he pointed out.
He pointed out that thanks to the subsidies inflation has been kept under control, which has allowed salaries to have more purchasing power.
