The train driver who rammed a woman on Wednesday and caused her death in the city of Córdoba was charged with the crime of “culpable homicide”, while the baby that the woman was carrying in her arms, and which resulted in serious injuries, He remains hospitalized, judicial sources reported.
The accident occurred on Wednesday when the freight train was circulating on the section of Sabattini Avenue and Circunvalación Sur, in the city of Córdoba, where it ran over Pamela Ferro (24 years old)who was walking alongside the tracks with her five-month-old baby in her arms, whom she managed to throw aside to save him from the impact.
As a result of the impact, the woman died on the spot due to the seriousness of her injuries, while her baby suffered multiple traumas, fractures and injuries to the lungsreported from the Children’s Hospital, where he remains hospitalized.
In this regard, the Prosecutor of Instruction Lourdes Cuaglatti decided to charge the train driver with “culpable homicide”, whose identity was not provided; while the investigation tries to determine if he sounded the horn when passing through the place where the accident occurred, which is a transit area for families residing in the neighborhood of Los Artesanos.
Ferro was returning from a health check on her baby and would not have noticed the presence of the train that had been traveling in the same direction, and the same would have happened with the driver with respect to the woman who was walking on the tracks.
Meanwhile, relatives and neighbors in the area testified that the driver did not honk the horn to alert those who pass through that place.
