The The Catholic Church will not participate in the second phase of the single dialogue table that takes place in Penonomé, Coclé province, therefore, it will not act as a facilitator, as reported this Tuesday morning, in Telemetro Reporta, the Vice Minister of Labor and Labor Development, Roger Tejada.
He added that “the Catholic Church and the leadership of the facilitation team of this table, have indicated through Monsignor José Domingo Ulloa, that they will not continue in this phase two. The National Government would have to find an entity that acts as a facilitator, mediator and conciliator, so that it can attend to the other points that have been established, adding to the dissent”.
The single dialogue table was installed on July 21, after a social crisis was registered in the country for almost a month, due to the high cost of living, among other problems.
The Catholic Church proposed to the groups that were demonstrating, to settle in a unified table with the National Government to reach agreements and correct said problems.
After the installation of the table, several consensuses have been achieved, such as the freezing of fuel prices, the entry of more products and stabilization of the prices of the basic family basket, agreements on education and energy.
Tejada indicated that although all the sectors, which are not yet integrated, will be able to participate in phase 2 of the single dialogue table, they will not be able to intervene and change the measures already agreed upon.
“After touching on this entire series of agreements that are part of that phase one, it is up to us now in this recess, when we return, to see corruption and transparency,” said the Vice Minister of Labor.
