Juan Carrasco: "There is political persecution against me"

In an interview for La República, the former Lambayeque prosecutor stressed that he will exhaust all resources to participate in the electoral process on October 2, 2022, since -he noted- that he hopes that the National Elections Jury (JNE) issue a fair resolution after the appeal to Resolution No. 1110-2022, issued by the Special Electoral Jury of Chiclayo (JEECH) that declared the objections against them founded because Together for Peru (JP) did not comply with parity horizontal in the registration of lists at the national level.

“It is expected that the JNE will pronounce itself fairly and allow my participation in the electoral process”Carrasco said.

He added: “When I was a prosecutor, I investigated Humberto Acuna, which is part of the Alliance for Progress (APP), who is afraid of losing hegemony in Lambayeque”.

He even noted that his political opponents would not file appeals specified by the electoral norm if he were in the last place of the preferences.

That’s why they all came together to get me out of the race and, all the citizens realized it. However, I will exhaust the legal resources to apply”, he sentenced.
