More than 30 businesses excluded from the collection of the Voucher and the Digital Scholarship for mishandling this benefit

After a business denounced, through its social networks, the alleged exclusion of its chain of super markets for the collection of the digital voucher, the National Authority for Government Innovation (AIG, through a statement, reported that more than thirty (30) businesses are being investigated for mishandling or use of this social benefit.

The entity assured that both the beneficiaries and businesses participating in the different digital benefit programs such as the Digital Voucher of the New Panamé Solidarity Plan and the IFARHU Digital Scholarship, are aware for what purpose these benefits should be used, however they have detected that other uses are given .

“Each program is based on a specific regulation that determines the use and destination of the benefits,” they stated, emphasizing that the competent entities of each program are empowered to carry out the investigations and the corresponding procedures on the use and destination of the benefits according to the regulations in force, “for which preventive measures, suspensions and/or sanctions may be applied as appropriate, in order to avoid their improper or inappropriate use, ensuring the proper management of public funds.”

They detailed that the use of the digital platform has also been provisionally suspended for the thirty businesses.
