Olympic medalist (bronze at Rio 2016), Lauro Chaman won silver in the 81.9 km endurance test in the MC5 class (for athletes with less severe physical-motor disabilities). Compatriot Carlos Souza won bronze in the 70.2 km race, class MC1 (severe degree of physical impairment).

World champion last year, Chaman fought for the bi until the final meters of the 81.9 km dispute, but it didn’t work: the gold went to the French Kevin Le Cunff, and the Australian Alistair Donohoe completed the podium with the bronze.
“I’m always very grateful to God for all these achievements, I’m happy to be on the podium once again. Of course, the main objective was to keep the title, but the Frenchman was very strong too and deserves congratulations. adding important points for Brazil in the world ranking, enabling us to win as many places as possible for Paris 2024”, said the cyclist in a statement to the Brazilian Cycling Confederation (CBC).

Carlos Soares, Brazilian representative at the Tokyo Games, finished third in the 70.2 km race in the MC1 class. The winner was Spaniard Ricardo Argiles, followed by North American Aaron Keith. who got the silver.
“My goal was to get a medal at this year’s Worlds. The last stage of the World Cup, played last week, where I won two medals, strengthened this hope even more and now I managed to win this long-awaited medal in the endurance test. It was a bronze, but without a doubt it has a taste of gold, in addition to an immeasurable importance in my career”, said Soares emotional.
Brazil ended its participation in the World Cup with four medals (one silver and three bronzes).
