The Peruvian state collected 22 million soles for the third installment of the civil damages of the Brazilian company Odebrecht, as reported by the Ministry of Human Rights last Tuesday.
In a release, the Justice sector pointed out that the payment has been made with funds from the Retention and Reparation Trust – FIRR established within the framework of Law No. 30737, in accordance with the annual installment schedule established in the Benefit and Effective Collaboration Agreement that it signed. the company with the Special Team of the Public Ministry and the Ad Hoc Prosecutor’s Office of the Lava Jato case, which has been judicially approved.

Thus, the S / 22 million already collected in 2020 and the S / 80 million that Odebrecht paid in 2019 are added to the payment of this third installment.
It is worth mentioning that the referred Effective Collaboration Agreement established that the Odebrecht company must compensate the Peruvian State with S / 760 million (S / 610 million plus S / 150 million of legal interest, approximately) for four projects where said company acknowledged having made payments illicit.
The projects are as follows: South Interoceanic Highway, Sections 2 and 3; Line 1 of the Lima Metro, Sections 1 and 2; Vía de Evitamiento del Cusco and Vía Costa Verde, Callao section.
To date, the Peruvian State has collected S / 124 million as part of the effective collaboration agreement with the Odebrecht company.
