The Secretary of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries, Juan José Bahillo, stated that his portfolio will work “for the millions of Argentine men and women who make up the sector”, stressing the importance of resolving the issues raised by the Liaison Table at the meeting of the Last Friday at the Escobar Industrial Park.
In dialogue with CNN Radio, he said that the government will do so through dialogue and consensus on measures that encourage greater investment by producers, and advanced that technological innovation will be the pillar of his administration.
Bahillo affirmed that “working on policies for innovation, technical science is a central axis; we must provide technology to the field, these will be our responsibilities”, and added that “there are other responsibilities, linked to conditions that we will work together with the sectors”.
On the other hand, the secretary considered that the incorporation of Agriculture to the Ministry of Economy “was a good decision”, explaining that it will improve the coordination of policies “with areas such as Production and Trade“.
“This week we have already had several meetings with Sergio Massa and the teams to seek joint solutions to the application of public policies,” he stressed.
On the other hand, he referred to the future and the policies that will be applied: “I am convinced that predictability is going to be given with economic measures, such as those that have already been seen in recent weeks.“, and expanded: “Trust is built over time, with actions, and the greatest responsibility to generate it is mine, and dialogue and responses in the short term are key in this regard.”
Finally, Bahillo stated that “our vision is that we must export and produce more, and for this we must promote tools and conditions to develop the livestock sector“.
“The output has to be the one with the greatest production and work to generate the conditions so that all producers can do it because there are millions of Argentine men and women who live in relation to agricultural activity,” the official concluded.
