They evoke the legacy of Fidel Castro 96 years after his birth

The president of Cuba, Miguel Díaz-Canel, and other high-ranking leaders of the island, today highlighted the imprint of the historic leader of the Revolution, Fidel Castro, on the occasion of the 96th anniversary of his birth.

Happy birthday, dear #Fidel. We feel you among us in the challenging hours of the last days and in the inalienable dreams of always. We are going after your steps. We will win!, the Cuban president wrote on his Twitter profile.

For his part, Prime Minister Manuel Marrero stressed that “Fidel left us his guide, his example, his revolutionary intransigence, his faith in victory.”

Also on that social network, Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez highlighted the validity of this revolutionary leader, and affirmed that his presence and example accompanies the island in every battle in defense of just causes, and inspires its creative resistance. His ideas guide our emancipatory thinking, he noted.

Representatives from all spheres of Cuban society reaffirm this day the determination to defend the socialist project on the island, on the 96th birthday of its architect and main promoter and inspirer.

With cultural, sports, recreational activities, institutions and people highlight the legacy of Fidel Castro in various fields.

Maduro: Fidel continues to illuminate the path of the peoples

The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, commemorated this Saturday the 96th anniversary of the birth of the leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro.

In his account on the social network Twitter, he stressed that Castro’s socialist vision “continues to illuminate the path of the peoples” who fight for sovereignty.

«We celebrate together with our Cuban brothers, the 96th anniversary of the birth of the Leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro Ruz. His vision of Socialism continues to illuminate the path of peoples who fight for dignity, respect and sovereignty. Long live Fidel, forever!”, indicates the publication.

Authorities of the National Government remembered this Saturday the legacy of the leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro, when commemorating 96 years of his birth.

Through his account on the social network Twitter, the Minister for Communes and Social Movements, Jorge Arreaza, stated that Castro “marked the history” of America with his ability to fulfill dreams of equality.

«The wisdom of #FidelCastro was as infinite as his courage and will. He marked the history of Our America forever. His ability to dream and fulfill dreams of equality, late today in all our peoples. Thank you for so much, Commander Fidel! Arreaza wrote on the social network.

The Minister for Foreign Affairs, Carlos Faria, for his part; honored the life and legacy of Castro, and asserted that his work “inspires the peoples of the world to remain firm on a safe path” towards the consolidation of an Independent Homeland.

In addition, he reiterated that “his impetus to fight against capitalism and imperialism will always be a beacon of light that guides the path towards the construction of the new stage of transformation and development of Latin America.”

For his part, the Minister for Culture, Ernesto Villegas, shared on the social network an interview he conducted with Castro in 2006, in Argentina.

Fidel Castro was born on August 13, 1926 in Birán, Cuba; and he is a symbol and inspiration in the struggles of social movements and of those who try to break the exclusionary and oppressive doctrines of the capitalist system.

Commander Fidel Castro led one of the most important feats of the 20th century in his country, defeating the dictatorship of Fulgencio Batista with just a small group of patriotic combatants.

Just as he also dedicated his life to the unity of underdeveloped countries, the protection of the environment, peace, the self-determination of peoples and the fight against imperialism. Physically departed on November 25, 2016
