Bolívar came back on time and achieved a great victory on Santa Cruz soil. Real Santa Cruz started winning, but in the second half they lost their cool and their two stars Dorny Romero and Jayro Jean due to injury.
The game started with a lot of intensity. La Paz dominated the ball, and patiently approached the Santa Cruz goal, while the whites appealed to the usual script, with Dorny Romero and Jayro Jean as attacking references.
Little by little, the Cruceños became more sharp with their counterattacks, while the La Paz academy lost lights and precision in its attacks.
In minute 24, a long ball appeared that Romero dominated, beat César Martins in the race and scored 1-0. The Dominican took several centimeters ahead of the Brazilian, stepped on the area, and defined a cross for a good local goal.
In the second half, it didn’t change much in the first few minutes, but around minute 65, Real Santa Cruz felt the casualties of Romero and Jean due to muscle injuries, and lost offensive weight.
In the 71st minute, Bolívar squeezed the rival and managed to find neglect in the central defense. Carlos Melgar appeared in the left sector of the area, and chopped the ball before Franco’s exit. The auction went in the direction of the Santa Cruz arch, but without force or speed, so Bruno Savio appeared to push the ball and make it 1-1 official.
With the tie, Bolívar began to get ahead in the field and desperately look for the winning goal.. With the intensity, two other Real players suffered muscle injuriespossibly due to the sporting effort in the match, without having trained during the week.
In the 94th minute, Bruno Savio scored again and gave the La Paz victory. Víctor Ábrego stepped into the area and took a very wide shot that, luckily for Celeste, caught the Brazilian striker.
Without so much convincing collective performance, and with a very diminished Real Santa Cruz, Bolívar got a good victory as a visitor.
