The political organizations deposited their lists of members in the Central Electoral Board (JCE), in compliance with the provisions of Law 33/18 on Political Parties that orders these entities to take that step each year.
The Dominican Liberation Parties (PLD), Dominican Revolutionary (PRD), Modern Revolutionary (PRM) and the People’s Force (FP) deposited their respective lists of affiliates in the electoral body and only among those four parties, of the 27 that has the system, they reported more registered than the number of people who voted in the elections of July 5, 2020.
The number of affiliates of these four organizations is around 59% of the 2020 congressional and presidential elections, which was 7 million 529 thousand 923 voters, of that amount, 595 thousand 879 are registered in the foreign registry.
In those elections, 4 million 163 thousand 275 voted and among the four major parties that the system has, there are 4 million 469 thousand 720 registered in their respective lists of members, that is, they have 306 thousand 445 registered more than the number that attended the polls.
Of those, the highest number of militants was reported by the PRM with one million 873 thousand 422 members; It is followed by the PLD, which deposited a list of members of one million 760 thousand 565 registered; the FP 648 thousand 753 affiliated and the PRD 186 thousand 980 affiliated.
Among the PLD, the PRM and the FP reported that they have a total of 2 million 112 thousand 761 women among their affiliates. The PLD reported that 53% of its membership is female, which is equivalent to 933 thousand 99 women; The PRM reported 46% of women in its ranks, equivalent to 861 thousand 774 women and the FP reported that 49% of its membership is female, for a total of 317 thousand 888 of its register.
The political delegate of the PRM before the JCE, Orlando Jorge Mera, reported that the list that his party deposited corresponds to the one he made for the 2020 elections and that he will again open the registry of militants for the registration of new members.
The PLD in the internal renewal process reported that its registry will be constantly open for the registration of new members, while the FP has held registration days throughout the country and abroad to draw up its first list of affiliates.
The PRD did not report how its membership list is distributed in relation to sex. The organization explained that it will enter a stage of growth and registration of new militants.
Alianza País reports that it has 7 thousand 618 members
The Alianza País political delegate to the JCE, Sergio Holguín, reported that the organization has more than 7,618 members and that they are currently working on the growth and strengthening of this political organization. The partisan political system of the country has 27 political parties, but less than ten have deposited the list of militants with the electoral body at the expiration of the legal term for these purposes.
