In images shared by numerous users through social networks, Cubans are heard demanding the restoration of the electrical service to the rhythm of conga with saucepans; type of protest that is becoming more frequent throughout the island, due to the unsustainable energy and economic crisis.

“Blackout and Güira de Melena heated up,” he wrote in Twitter Albert Fonse, along with photos and videos showing a large crowd.

“Güira de Melena woke up. Tonight they came out with cauldrons to protest the current”, said Adrián González García, who also reported that the police officers arrived at the scene and later “turned on the power”.

They sent for the special troops, he confirmed in Facebook Ezequiel Ignacio Alvarez Sosa.
