Lugo remains stable with an improvement in his vital signs, according to a new report

Hoy Paraguay

The third day of the oral and public trial for the director of the ABC Color newspaper Natalia Zuccolillo and the journalist Juan Carlos Lezcano was completed with the statement of a witness and then the documentary evidence presentation stage was passed.

The engineer and former Deputy Minister of the Undersecretary of State for Taxation (SET) Andreas Neufeld was the one who declared and said that he was responsible for the modernization of the Paraguayan fiscal sector, with the implementation of the reengineering of the tax system and stressed that the system is working until today, with its updates and improvements.

The other witness, Marcio Ferreira Verdi, did not testify since he was not at the Paraguayan embassy in Panama, as he had agreed, and for that reason a new date will be set for him to testify.

After this, the documentary evidence of the parties was presented, then the sentencing judge, Wilfrido Peralta, called an intermediate room until next week.

This case began in September 2019 when the journalist Lezcano published unsubstantiated information about the work carried out by Marta González when she was deputy minister and accused her of mismanagement. Despite the fact that the documents were presented that demonstrated the error of the information, the media outlet directed by Natalia Zuccolillo continued with the defamatory publications and filed the complaint.
