Madrid Spain.- The company specialized in educational trips discova, based in Cancun, Mexico, opened an office in Havana this Friday; with which the regime expands its strategies to raise the tourism sector.
According to its regional director for the Americas, Simon Lindsay, quoted by the official Latin Pressunlike current operators, will be able to offer both publicly and privately owned products.
In addition, villas and unique properties not available for the mass market will be marketed, said Lindsay, who lived and worked in Cuba for three years.
Discova operates in other parts of the continent such as Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic and the Aztec country itself.
With this new office in the Cuban capital, the Island becomes the fourth Latin American country where it carries out operations, and the fifteenth in the world.

Nature Tourism, another strategy of the regime
Although the figures indicate the opposite, the Cuban government is also committed to nature tourism to try to reach 2.5 million foreign visitors during the current year.
At the end of last July, the inauguration, for next September, of a new high standard hotel for the Tobacco Route of Cuba, in the municipality of San Juan y Martínez, province of Pinar del Río, was announced.
The installation, belonging to the Islazul chain, will have the objective of “allowing people who wish to live together and share the secrets of this culture, participate in the different tobacco processes and interact with the growers.”
Also in July, the Ecotur Travel Agency inaugurated the Biological Diversity and Tourism (Biotur) event, in the province of Holguín, in eastern Cuba. Ecotur presented the main nature tourism products in this region; among them the Salto del Guayabo, in Pinares de Mayarí and Mount Cabaniguán, the world’s largest reserve for the Acutus or American crocodile species, south of the province of Las Tunas.
At the last International Tourism Fair FITCuba 2022 the minister of the sector in Cuba, Juan Carlos García, announced that this year the event would be resumed Turnatdedicated to nature tourism, which will take place from September 20 to 25 in the east of the country.
Cuba destination presented in different parts of the world
In the last year, the Cuban authorities have kept presenting Cuba as a tourist destination in different cities around the world.
The most recent presentation was in New Delhi, the capital of India, during the First Edition of the Outbound Tourism Summit event, held at the beginning of this month.
They have also presented the country as a destination at an event at the Cuban Embassy in Phnom Penh, the capital of Cambodia; in Montréal, Canada; at the 67th Meeting of the Regional Commission of the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) in Punta del Este, Uruguay; at the International Tourism Exchange (BIT) fair in Milan, Italy and in Turkey.
