The sociologist Nadya Vásquez, who received the Raúl Leis Romero 2021 Order Medal a few weeks ago for her contributions to society, spoke this Tuesday in the morning edition of the Panama Hoy newscast about the social situations around Covid-19.

He stated that this story is loaded with crisis situations and moments when society has to face changes and transformation processes.

“The issue of the pandemic also within that historical context in which we have passed from centuries to centuries, always through the presence of something that forces us to react and make the changes we have to make. We are definitely living in a time of uncertainty, and the role of the social sciences of sociology enters, to know the problems in depth that are presented to give the answer to these problems, “he said.

He said that the future of the country at this time is difficult to predict, since many things will change as a result of a new culture that will be built from the new habits and the different economic situation that has been had.
