Mocoa, under the scrutiny of the Comptroller for inconsistencies in subsidies

The Comptroller General of the Republic (CGR) determined a finding with alleged disciplinary and fiscal incidents for $5,748 million, corresponding to the value of the additional rental subsidies that have been granted and paid to victims of the Mocoa avalanche.

“Such aid has been given for breaches that have prevented the completion and delivery of the Sauces II Housing Project, which is part of the reconstruction of the capital of the department of Putumayo.”, indicates the CGR report.

The community has resorted to this subsidy to pay for a place to sleep, because to date, the units have not been delivered on the scheduled dates. The subsidies given to temporary victims, have exceeded the date initially planned (15 months), which was the projection that was made on the delivery of the project, in September 2019.

“The previous situation generated additional payments for rental subsidies to the beneficiaries for a value greater than 5,748 million pesos ($5,748,316,667), corresponding to the disbursement of 8,146 supports in the period from September 6, 2019 (date initially planned for the completion of the project) to March 19, 2022. And this is the sum quantified as a presumed fiscal discovery, ”says the document.

In this way, On July 31, the term of the project’s construction phase ended. However, according to the Comptroller’s investigation, the Mocoa Sauces II Housing project, with which this situation would be solved and which includes 909 single-family homes, to date, has not complied. The CGR affirms that none have been delivered and not even one has been fully built.

“The fiscal finding for $5,748 million is the result of the corresponding Special Action of Intersectoral Control”, added the CGR.
