Tienda Inglesa announced the opening of a provisional branch of 2,100 square meters that will be located in the parking lot of the shopping center. It will be a light structure, whose construction will begin in the next few days, with the aim of inaugurating it before next December.
“We are going to make a huge effort to set up a temporary branch, mainly to maintain the greatest number of jobs and offer the quality of Tienda Inglesa to all our customers, who since last Saturday have not stopped sending us their solidarity and they are our reason for being”, said Juan Manuel Parada, General Manager of Tienda Inglesa.
In addition, the Store will offer 30% discounts for all the workers of the English Store and Punta Shopping affected by the fire that they are included in the special unemployment insurance granted by the government “so that they have the best possible price to get through this difficult period.” “It’s one more way of reaching out to them,” Parada said.
“All of us who are part of the Tienda Inglesa family are suffering a lot from what has happened. It is very difficult to see how such an emblematic place falls apart before our eyes. But we have an extraordinary team, who quickly get up and move forward. We are going to raise it again,” said Parada.
The General Director of Tienda Inglesa also highlighted the “enormous signs of solidarity” received in the event and had special recognition for the work carried out by Firefighters, and by national and departmental authorities.

For his part, the mayor of Maldonado, Enrique Antía, expressed his gratitude to the authorities of Tienda Inglesa and Punta Shopping for “the way they are working to face this new stage.”
