Increase in number of passengers at Tocumen International Airport

During the first seven months of 2022, some 8 million 769,966 passengers have moved through the Tocumen International Airport, the air terminal explained that the month of July this year has closed with 1 million 465,761 passengers, which represents 562,355 more travelers compared to the same month of the year 2021.

This increase in the month of July 2022, of 157,840 passengers more than the previous month, reflects a solid recovery of the international and local air transport industry, in line with forecasts of a possible end of the year 2022 with more than 13 million passengers passing through Tocumen, very close to the 2019 passenger record.

For the General Manager of the Tocumen International Airport, Raffoul Arab, the first half of 2022 began affected by a new wave of the COVID 19 pandemic. However, “we managed to recover the recovery trend starting in the second quarter with the return of some airlines, the increase in frequencies, the recovery of routes, and especially the confidence of passengers in international travel”, Arab highlighted.
