Maduro appoints Félix Plasencia as ambassador to Colombia and relaunches industrial engine

The governor Nicholas Maduro directed, this Thursday, August 11, a day of work for the relaunch of the Industrial Engine. During the act, he announced the appointment of former foreign minister Felix Plasencia as Venezuela’s ambassador to Colombia, once bilateral relations are resumed.

He said that Plasencia “will soon be in Bogotá” and asserted that he has a national team working to restore ties with Colombia after President Gustavo Petro came to power.

“I want to announce that I have appointed former Foreign Minister Félix Plasencia, who was former ambassador to the People’s Republic of China and who is today president of the International Investment Center in Venezuela, as the next ambassador to the Republic of Colombia and the Venezuelan Foreign Ministry has already requested the welcome to the Foreign Ministry of Colombia, “he said.

Regarding the industrial engine, Maduro spoke of a new opportunity.

“I am announcing that I am going to institutionalize and give power to a National Table for Productive Dialogue with the entire industrial sector of Venezuela,” said the president, from the Simón Bolívar Park in Caracas, where the ExpoIndustrial of the Bolivarian Economic Agenda is being held.

In this sense, he indicated that the aforementioned table will have several vertices: Productive Chain, Industrial Development plans, management of statistics and indicators; national market and supply; the exportable offer, appropriation and technological development and strengthening of the national economy.

In accordance with Ripe, the industrial sector must dedicate at least 20% of its production to the international market and the capture of wealth in foreign currency.

He urged all sectors of the country to unify efforts to increase national production and diversify the Venezuelan economy. “A new virtuous circuit of work and production,” she affirmed.

Likewise, the ruler said that, by the end of 2022, Venezuela will have a good rate of deceleration of the inflationary process. For the ruler, the year 2023 is going to be the best year in terms of production, growth, profit, supply.

On the other hand, Maduro announced the construction of the country’s first scientific-technological-industrial park. This park will be located in the Altos Mirandinos area.

During his speech, the president highlighted the need to advance in a mechanism that convenes, in a first stage, the Ministry of Industries and National Production, the Venezuelan Corporation of Guayana (CVG) and private industries to consolidate productive strategies for food, goods and services. through the Local Supply and Production Committees (CLAP).

“We are advancing in an articulated model to give communities the power to produce their food, goods and services. The local productive economic power that, in addition, is chained and articulated with all the industrial power of the country that is powerful, ”he asserted.

This Thursday, in a contact from Carabobo state, the government announced the reactivation of the Venezolana del Vidrio, C. A, (Venvidrio) company. On this, it was reported that the company has a capacity of 120 tons of daily production.

Maduro defends subway workers

Maduro also questioned the complaints that political organizations have made about the situation of the Caracas Metro, although he did not specifically refer to Roberto Patino (First Justice), who has referred to the state of the underground transportation system. He maintained that there is a campaign financed from the United States.

“The Venezuelan people should know that the workers of the Caracas Metro and the Venezuelan Corporation of Guayana (CVG) have joined effort and knowledge to manufacture pieces and parts necessary for the system’s locomotives,” he said.

In addition, he said that the workers of the Caracas Metro, despite the sanctions imposed on the country, have continued to provide transportation services to the Venezuelan people. “The workers denounce the blockade that the country has imposed since 2018, because we cannot bring the spare parts to fix the stairs, for the trains. The workers have made technological creation”, expressed Maduro.
