The National Council for the Regulation and Promotion of the Dairy Industry (Conaleche) approved, at the fourth meeting of the Credit Committee, 49 loans for an amount of RD$53,670,451, which will be used by the beneficiaries for the purchase of cattle, improvement of farms, acquisition of equipment and pasture development, with which it will have a positive impact on national production.
The committee meeting was headed by the executive director of Conaleche, Miguel Laureanowho stressed that these resources will be distributed among ranchers, processors and associations that applied for loans through the Conaleche Credit Committee.
He said that it was also agreed to continue the training workshops that Conaleche gives to ranchers, with which it is sought that they improve their production and that the granting of these loans demonstrates the confidence that the institution has in the applicants and the support to the sector for its development.

So far in 2022, Conaleche has approved 222 loans, for an amount greater than RD$276 million, with which it seeks to promote national production.
In addition to Laureano, the president of the Dominican Association of Milk Producers (Aproleche), Eric Rivero, participated in the meeting of the Credit Committee; and the representatives of the Agricultural Bank, the National Cattlemen’s Board, the Federation of Cattlemen of the Eastern Region (Fedagare), the Federation of Cattlemen of the Central Cibao (Fedacibao), the Federation of Cattlemen of the North Coast (Fedeganorte), the Federation of Cattlemen of the South ( Fegasur) and the Federation of Ranchers of the Northeast (Fedegano).
