President Castillo’s sister-in-law, Yenifer Paredes Navarro, tested positive for COVID-19 hours after making herself available to the Public Ministry. The first lady’s sister decided to turn herself in after spending more than twelve hours as a fugitive from justice.
“The doctors on duty who have come to check on her have done the swab test and it has tested positive for covid,” said José Dionisio, Yenifer Paredes’s lawyer.
The jurist also explained that he had already appealed the preliminary detention for 15 days against Castillo Terrones’s sister-in-law, even before knowing the results of the covid test to which Paredes Navarro was subjected and that a request for her to be released due to to your health situation.
“I think that it is valid for any person (to prioritize health). In addition, from the point of view of technical defense, the resolution executed against my client violates due process and is not reasonable or proportional, ”he added.
Effective collaborator?
The first lady’s sister’s lawyer ruled out that Yenifer Paredes Navarro avails herself of effective collaboration because there would be no grounds, since using that legal option would mean accepting that she has committed crimes as Zamir Villaverde, Bruno Pacheco and Karelim Lopez.
“The first thing that has to be seen is the health of my sponsored. She is collaborating with justice. Regarding whether she could be an effective collaborator, obviously not because there is no reason for her to request that legal instrument, “said José Dionisio.
