AN Special Commission registers almost five thousand Venezuelan migrants murdered on foreign soil

Comisión Especial AN registra casi 5 mil migrantes venezolanos asesinados en suelo extranjero

Almost five thousand Venezuelans have lost their lives in violent acts in countries such as Colombia, Peru, Ecuador and other nations in the region, records the Special Commission of the National Assembly (AN) that investigates crimes against compatriot migrants abroad.

This was reported by the president of this parliamentary commission, deputy Julio Chavezafter the work meeting held this Tuesday at the José María Vargas Building in Caracas.

“We can say that to date we have 4,918 Venezuelan men and women who, unfortunately, have been murdered in Colombian, Peruvian, Ecuadorian and other territories of the region,” said the Deputy.

“We have it with names and surnames,” he asserted, and advanced that the only thing missing is to cross this data with the civil identity records kept by the National Electoral Council (CNE).

Likewise, Chávez reported that in the work meeting, they received proposals from the Bolivarian Women’s Force of Miranda, linked to the Women’s Democratic Foundation worldwide, to eradicate and punish the crime of white slavery that has been detected in the Miranda entity.

“We have agreed with these women legislators from Miranda, who have detected that there is a situation of trafficking in people who are being taken to Colombia to enslave them by mafias,” said Chavez.

On the other hand, in the continuity of the work carried out by the Legislative Commission, the Deputy announced that a bill is being worked on to reintegrate migrants who massively wish to return to the country, after living the traumatic experience of being foreigners. in countries whose governments failed to respect their human rights.

He said that almost 70% of migrants in countries such as Argentina, Colombia and others have expressed their desire to be repatriated.

“We are studying the policies to receive and reinsert these migrants. The 70% that we have registered in Argentina are willing to return to Venezuela and the same happens with migrants in other countries. We are adapting the Venezuelan legal regulations to reinsert them”, he pointed out.

He commented that this bill is in line with international treaties and conventions. Likewise, they are reviewing other approaches that have been consigned, especially from Colombia.

He stated that the members of the commission are receiving good signals from migrants who want help to return.

“We are sure that better times will come for the population and for migrations in times of peace,” he concluded.
