The producer Dayana prieto, wife of the playwright Yunior García Aguilera, founder and director of the Trébol Teatro company, announced that the Council of Performing Arts (CNAE) ordered the closure of the group. “They have unemployed many actors and actresses. We also know that a founder of Trébol requested to take over the group and they did not allow it,” he denounced this weekend on his Facebook profile.
“They already did it with Juan Carlos Cremata Malberti, and they will continue to do so, I have no doubts,” he added, referring to the film director and playwright who also suffered exclusion from his work due to his claims against censorship on the island.
This Sunday he reacted himself Garcia Aguilera, who said: “They have closed our theater group and have banned my works. My name becomes part of a very long list of unnameable authors.” In addition, he explained that his colleagues on the island are being harassed and threatened to remove their texts from the repertoires that they take to the tables.

García Aguilera explained that he made the decision to leave the country because of the pressure he and his family received for the activism he carried out in defense of human rights. During the last months, the 39-year-old artist and also one of the most visible faces of 27N, was the victim of an intense campaign of discredit in the official media.
The CNAE belongs to the Cuban Ministry of Culture and is chaired by Vice Minister Fernando Rojas, the official in charge of confronting the November 27 demonstration in front of that institution.
