On the afternoon of this Wednesday, August 10, the Special Commission for the Evaluation of candidates for the position of magistrate of the Supreme Court of Justice of the Second Criminal Chamber, delivered to the President of the Republic, Laurentino Cortizo, the report on the candidates for this position
According to President Cortizo, there were 11 Panamanians who will go through an evaluation process.
The candidates who are elected by Cortizo will replace the magistrate José Ayú Prado, whose 10-year term expires on December 31, 2022, and the alternate magistrate of the Criminal Chamber who will replace Asunción Alonso.
Cortizo thanked “the effort of the evaluation commission for its commitment to the country. With this process we continue to fulfill a campaign promise for the selection of magistrates, in accordance with the State Pact for Justice”.
