Vallejo describes Barra’s statements as “serious”
The Government Spokesperson Minister, Camila Vallejodescribed this Wednesday as “serious” Eduardo Barra’s statements, adding that “we have a duty to dispense with it.”
“Obviously it is serious, we are with the background. I do not know how the Seremi will have interpreted or what the Seremi will have interpreted, but obviously we have a task and a duty of disregard that all members of this government have to respect, not only the high authorities, but all of its officials,” Vallejo said.
“Obviously, everyone has the right to have an opinion and they are citizens of our country and there is freedom of expression, but within the framework of prescindence. Being public officials they have to be restricted to that mandate that has also been instructed not only by the Comptroller’s Office, but also by this government”, he added.
“The background information is being collected, but without a doubt, this statement is serious, because it does not fit the mandate of disregard that we have established,” said the Secretary of State.
