Residential rent inflation rises 1.05% in July, says FGV

The Residential Rent Variation Index (Ivar), released today (9) by the Brazilian Institute of Economics of the Getulio Vargas Foundation (Ibre/FVG), rose 1.05% in July. In the previous month, the rate had dropped by 0.31%. As a result, the indicator accumulated in 12 months went from 8.05% in June to 8.65% in July.Residential rent inflation rises 1.05% in July, says FGV

All cities surveyed by Ibre/FGV had an increase in Ivar in the monthly pass. The biggest readjustment occurred in Belo Horizonte (2.49%), after presenting the biggest drop in June (-4.12). In Porto Alegre, residential rents were 1.07% more expensive, in São Paulo the increase was 0.82% and in Rio de Janeiro Ivar rose 0.39%.

In the annual comparison, there was acceleration in Ivar accumulated in 12 months in Belo Horizonte (from 7.89% to 9.71%), São Paulo (8.23% to 8.99%) and Porto Alegre (from 6.29% to 6.31%). In the city of Rio de Janeiro, the indicator went from 10.43% to 10.41%, being the highest interannual rate surveyed.

According to Ibre/FGV, Ivar measures the monthly evolution of residential rental values ​​in Brazil, analyzing anonymous data from contracts provided by a group of agents in the real estate market. The next release will be on the 6th of September.
