The Directorate of Public Relations of the Uruguayan Air Force (FAU), reported that on the night of this Monday, August 8, at the request of the National Institute of Donation and Transplantation (INDT), the need to transfer organs from the department of Paysandú to the “General Cesáreo L. Berisso” International Airport.
In this regard and in order to fulfill the requested mission, the Air Operations Center (COA) ordered the takeoff of a C-212 “Aviocar” aircraft belonging to the No. 3 Air Squadron (Transport). In the early hours of the morning, at the facilities of the Air Brigade I, there was a land transfer unit in which the organs and tissues were transferred to the corresponding medical centers.
