A software update caused the fall of Google

Tens of thousands of users reported problems on various Internet services. Google on Monday night, according to the monitoring site downdetectorbut the problem was quickly resolved.

“We are aware of a software update issue that occurred late afternoon Pacific Time that briefly affected Google Search and Maps, and we apologize for the inconvenience,” a Google spokesperson said, contacted by AFP.

We are working quickly to resolve the issue and our services are back online.”

“Users tell us that there are problems with Google Maps since 9:36 p.m.,” DownDetector tweeted Monday night.

In the United States, more than 40,000 people reported to DownDetector that Google was down for them as of 9:20 p.m. local time, including in cities like New York and Denver, Colorado.

That number was greatly reduced in the following two hours. Complaints continued, but were less numerous, of problems with Google Cloud Y google-calendaramong others.
