The current manager of Infrastructure of the Regional Government of Junín (GRJ), Gerardo Manuel Portocarrero Almonacid, was arrested tonight by the Policeman when he was trying to bribe the councilor for the province of satipoJosé Villazana Flores, to vote against the return of Governor Fernando Orihuela Rojas on leave.
Sources of Peru21 They pointed out that Portocarrero – who is a militant and affiliate of Peru Libre – gave the sum of S / 3,850 to Villazana Flores to “block” the return of Orihuela. The young official who was arrested had been appointed to the position of trust by the current governor in charge of Junín, Clever Mercado Méndez.
At the end of July, Orihuela presented a document to the regional council to resume his work as governor because he had requested his withdrawal from the 2022 Regional and Municipal Elections, thus leaving the pencil party without a candidate for the Junín region.
The Regional Council will discuss this Tuesday, August 9, the suspension of the license that was granted in favor of Orihuela to participate as a candidate for Peru Libre in the next elections, but after his resignation from the candidacy and his acceptance of it by the Electoral Jury Huancayo Special, Orihuela Rojas seeks to rescind said request to resume his work as governor.
The intervention was carried out by the prosecutor Aladino Pacheco Lazo and took place in a restaurant in Huancayo where the counselor Villazana and the official Portocarrero agreed to the meeting. It was learned that the counselor, upon receiving the “offer” from the trusted official of Clever Mercado, decided to record the conservation and report it to the authorities in order to undertake the operation.
“The bribe was going to be for the counselor to vote against the return of the governor on leave (Fernando) Orihuela. With the wads (of money) it was intended to break the will in the vote, “said a source from the Public Ministry.
Likewise, it was learned that during the personal search of Portocarrero Almonacid the sum of S/42,850 was found, which was distributed in envelopes of S/10,000; S/8,000 and seven envelopes of S/3 each.
“In total, the sum of 42,850 soles has been seized and it is presumed that the rest of the money was going to be delivered to other councilors to twist their will to vote,” the source told this newspaper.
