The United Union of Education Workers (SUTE) of Mendoza began this Monday a stop work for 72 hours in salary claim, with a compliance that according to the union reached 75% in the primary sector and 65% in the public secondary level.
Teachers grouped in Argentine Union of Private Teachers (Sadop) of Mendoza.
Carina Sedanohead of SUTE, reported that the strike “has a 75% adherence in primary schools and 65% in secondary schools throughout the province and similar levels in the private sector.
Meanwhile, from the General Directorate of Schools (DGE) they minimized the impact of the strike and reported after noon that compliance with the force measure was 35%.
For his part, Sedano stressed that they have “once again a high adherence” of teachers and guards and claimed that “we are still unable to recover purchasing power and salaries continue to be below inflation rates.”
The unionist said that “again the families are accompanying us” in the measure of force and invited the educational community to the provincial march scheduled for Wednesday to the government house.

In the different departments of Mendoza, the strike was accompanied by various demonstrations and during the day They concentrated on the esplanades of the municipalities and will continue to participate in hearings with the mayors, detailed from the SUTE.
“We are going to be in the municipalities of the 18 departments. The idea also that the mayors receive us is to have an interlocutor, that they also express themselves and accompany the claim, that they speak with the governor Rodolfo Suarez for the parity to be reopened,” added the SUTE leader.
“Attendance is guaranteed with decent wages and working conditions,” Sedano remarked.
Meanwhile, from the General Directorate of Schools (DGE) they indicated that compliance to the measure of force was 35%.
At a press conference this afternoon, the Director General of Schools, Joseph Thomassaid that “up to this moment there is a 65% teacher attendance in state-run schools and 75% in private-run schools“.

The head of the DGE thanked “the teachers who have gone to schools today” and asked parents to send their children to school.
“The attendance of the students has been much more disparate” Thomas mentioned and explained that “the load has another process” with which they were not so clear about the attendance of the students.
“The SUTE lies a lot about many things,” accused the official when asked about the reported differences in compliance with the force measure.
“While we adults resolve the teacher salary conflict, the kids have to be learning, they have to be in the classroom,” Thomas said.
This is the second motorized strike by the union after the massive 48-hour march and strike carried out at the end of July, after the winter break.
From the SUTE they demand the reopening of parity and the repeal of the decree of salary increase to the sector imposed by the Provincial Executive day ago.
Today, if any citizen of the province has an insecurity problem and is not attended to by 911, do not take it as a personal matter, know that the government @rodysuarez I send the POLICE to visit the school to intimidate by the STOP.
