the congresswoman Norma Yarrow (Avanza País) sent an official letter to the Minister of Agrarian Development and Irrigation, Andrés Alencastre, in which he requests information regarding the corrective measures that have been taken in his sector after the observations made by the Comptroller in the purchase of urea by more than S/348 million.
“I am pleased to address you to greet you cordially and, at the same time, show my concern about the conclusions of Control Visit Report No. 021-2022-OCI/5741-SVC1 of the Comptroller General of the Republic, dated 5 August 2022, where they indicate alleged irregularities in the process of international acquisition of urea nitrogen fertilizer”, reads the document sent by the parliamentarian.
In that sense, Yarrow Lumbreras stated that in said purchase “there was no adequate evaluation of the applicant companies in the tender within the framework of the next start of the 2022-2023 agricultural campaign″, which is in charge of the Rural Agricultural Productive Development Program (Agro Rural).
Next, the congresswoman stressed that these would cause damage to agricultural producers. In addition, she indicated that the delivery of said fertilizer at the national level could be affected and affect the continuity of the process due to adverse situations.
“According to the aforementioned Report, the existence of adverse situations affect or could affect the continuity of the process.therefore the affectation in the achievement of the objective that is to guarantee the delivery of said fertilizer at the national level, to the organizations of agricultural producers and individual agricultural producers during the beginning of the Agricultural Campaign, up to the sum of S / 348 887 735 .00″, details the trade.
Finally, he said that, in accordance with article 69 of the Regulations of the Congress of the Republic, he requests that a report be sent to him with the preventive or corrective actions that have been implemented.
