The rector of the Autonomous University Gabriel René Moreno (UAGRM), Vicente Cuéllar, described this Monday as a “success” the first day of unemployment in Santa Cruz and denounced that the national government has no will to guarantee the completion of the Population and Housing Census in 2023.
The academic authority, which goes through some blockade points, asks the population not fall into the confrontation of groups related to the MAS that intend to unblock and warns that the technical socialization commissions, which the INE begins this afternoon in Oruro, are part of a distraction strategy.
“The strike is a success, the people are complying with discipline, I ask the population not to respond to the provocations, those attempts to unlock, the strike is to find a response to our request, which is to carry out the census in 2023. They are in a delaying attitude because there is no will to carry out the census”, she indicated.
Cuéllar questions that it was reported at the time that the cartographic update had advanced in some regions and now the authorities ask for technical proposals, as if that work had not been done.
“Instead of spending resources mobilizing people to confront us, those resources should be spent to buy tickets for the INE technicians and have them come and explain to us, they don’t have a schedule, the only thing they want is to cover up the inefficiency to substantiate that ineptitude of the middle managersor it will be a definition of the Government, of not going on strike”, he added.
The rector urged the population to stand firm in the pressure measure, which will last until tomorrow (Tuesday) and ratified that exist the technical arguments that support that the national survey can carry out the next administration.
“That the population maintain this firmness, this discipline, the strike is a success and we do not respond to provocations, We are not looking for confrontation, we want a solution, that the census be carried out”, he concluded.
