At the conclusion of the fifth date, Olimpia rediscovered the victory in the Closing Tournament by beating Sportivo Ameliano 2-0 this Sunday. Alejandro Silva and Derlis González scored the goals at the Manuel Ferreira.
In one game he was not exempt from arbitration controversies, in the first half a large part of the main action was concentrated tonight in Para Uno.
In the 22nd minute, judge Carlos Paul Benítez determined the sanction of a penalty in favor of Olimpia for the hand of defender Leonardo Incorvaia.
The VAR check confirmed the sanction, and Alejandro Silva took charge of the shot, who did not hit him in a good way and his shot was covered by Jorge Chena. However, it was evident that the visiting goalkeeper was ahead, so the execution had to be repeated.
Silva, this time, did not fail and placed the ball away from the rival goalkeeper’s chance, to leave the score at 1-0 at 26′.
Already in additional time of the first half, after the annulment of another goal by Ale Silva himself, a protested action occurred in the senior area.
The VAR checked a hand by Guillermo Paiva, which, however, did not lead to a review call to the central referee in what could have been an important chance in favor of the Blue ‘V’. And so, with the 1-0, the match went to rest.
In the second half, Derlis González sentenced the result in favor of the local with a good definition, and the 2-0 (65′) remained until the end of the actions.
With this, Olimpia reached 9 points in the Clausura and was 4 behind the leader Cerro Porteño, with which it will meet on the next date in the Paraguayan soccer superclassic.
Ameliano, for his part, remains with 6 units in the tournament but above all he is still stuck in last place in the table of averages, in the relegation zone.
