FGR initiates investigation
After the presidential visit, the Attorney General’s Office (FGR) began with investigations for possible federal crimes.
The prosecution reported that the head of the Federal Labor Representation Office “already provided substantial data on the case,” but only verbally.

According to the FGR, the Federal Ministerial Police interviewed workers from the damaged well and family members.
“One of the workers provided substantial information about the concessionaire, the foreman, as well as the owner of the property where the mine is located. Said data must be ratified through the corresponding proceedings”, he detailed.
The Prosecutor’s Office explained that field criminalistics tasks will be carried out; forensic photography; witness interviews; identity of the owner-occupants of the mine or coal pit and identification of the affected workers.
The Ministry of Labor and Social Welfare and the local authorities were asked for information on the inspections that had been carried out in matters of occupational safety, while the Municipal Civil Protection Directorate and the Undersecretary of State provided a report on the inspections carried out. in the place.
In addition, the authority asked the Mexican Institute of Social Security (IMSS) to report on the registered workers and the Ministry of Economy data on the concession for the exploitation of coal mineral and, where appropriate, the name of the natural or legal person in charge. of the concession.
For its part, the Tax Administration Service requested information on the taxpayer registered as the owner or holder of the damaged mining business.
“Communication has been maintained with the Head of the Investigation Unit of the Public Ministry Agency of the Attorney General’s Office of the State of Coahuila,” the FGR added.
