The mayor of Rosario, Paul Javkinasked that the judges “put prisoners” to those responsible for burning in the islands of the Paraná Deltawhile a fire in the wetlands covered this city of Santa Fe with smoke this Sunday afternoon.
“We are talking about 18 kilometers from the Paraná River, towards the interior of the islands (in Entre Ríos), it is right at the height of Rosario and due to the east wind, the smoke invades Rosario,” he told Télam. Paul Singerfrom the environmental group The Paraná is not touched.

“In a few hours, the fire has already advanced about 10 kilometers to the west and if it continues on that course, by night it could be reaching places where there are homes and rural residents,” warned the environmentalist, with the help of satellite images.
Shortly before 4:00 p.m., the local mayor, Pablo Javkin, sent a video through Twitter showing thick columns of smoke coming from fires in the Delta, in front of Rosario.
Javkin accompanied the images with his own story: “This has just happened, it has just been turned on, judges, officials, conservation lighthouses, security forces on the river, the brigades that were going to establish Entre Ríos, on the ground.”
San Luis, Entre Ríos and Jujuy, with active sources of fires in their territories
The provinces of San Luis, Entre Ríos and Jujuy maintained active forest fires in their territories while the one that affected Tucumán was extinguished, according to the daily part of the National Fire Management Service (SNMF).
In the province of Entre Ríos, the flames had not yet been controlled in the departments of Gualeguay and a sector of Victoria, while they were extinguished in Gualeguay.
In San Luis, meanwhile, two active fires affected the departments of Dupuy and Pueyrredón; while the one that had been unleashed in Ayacucho, was extinguished.
In Jujuy territory, on the other hand, the fire that was developing in the Manuel Belgrano department had not been controlled.
Different is the case of the province of Tucumán, which this Sunday was free of fires, after the one that affected Trancas had been extinguished.
And he added: “It just happened, go now, there are the criminals who arrested; this is not producer fire or anything that is calculated or scheduled”.
After remarking that “this is now, it is a criminal activity”, he demanded: “Judges act, put people in prison, what else are we going to have to do from Rosario for this to stop”, the mayor of Rosario ended visibly upset.
On the other hand, the Emergency Operations Center of the municipality of Rosario warned this afternoon that a vast area surrounding Rosario is affected by smoke from burning located in front of the Buenos Aires city of San Nicolás.
He added that, due to the smoke, starting this morning and until Monday morning there could be a significant decrease in visibility, for which he recommended caution when driving in the area.
