Congressman from Free Peru by Arequipa Jaime Quito showed his discontent with part of the changes in the Ministerial Cabinet. He was critical of the arrival of Kurt Burneo to the Economy portfolio, as well as the appointment of Miguel Rodriguez Mackay in Foreign Relations.
Regarding Burneo, he maintained that he will maintain the neoliberal economic policy, which according to Quito will prevent structural or root changes.
Quito also noted the designation of Rodriguez Mackay, whom he even described as a fujimorista. It is worth remembering that the new foreign minister was critical of the Government of Peter Castle. “The Minister of Foreign Affairs who has been a Fujimorista worries me a lot,” Quito emphasized.

The congressman avoided answering if the Free Peru caucus was still considered as the ruling party. He only pointed out that the confirmation of a constituent Assembly.
Critical of Congress
Quito questioned the attitude of the Congress, that the majority denied permission to travel to Colombia to President Pedro Castillo. In addition, he said he was not surprised by the statements made by the president of Parliament, Lady Camones, who was in favor of a resignation of the president. “He has been saying that for a year,” he said.
