Packed in the season, Fluminense faces Cuiabá, starting at 4 pm (Brasilia time) this Sunday (7) at the Maracanã stadium, for the 21st round of the Brazilian Championship.
Tricolor das Laranjeiras arrives at a special moment, with an unbeaten record of 12 games (nine wins and three draws). This sequence of matches covers two competitions: Brasileirão and Copa do Brasil, a championship in which the Rio de Janeiro team plays in the quarter-finals against Fotaleza (Fluminense beat the Ceará team 1-0 in the first leg, played at Castelão Stadium.

For this match, Tricolor will have an absence of weight, midfielder André, who is suspended after taking the third yellow card in the competition in the 2-2 draw with Santos on the last second (1) at Vila Belmiro. According to Paulo Henrique Ganso, the absence of one of the team’s highlights should be regretted, but the team must look for ways to remedy this lack: “André is a great player. No doubt he will be missed. We have to think as a team, as a group. Without him, there will be Martinelli, Nonato, Wellington, Yago Felipe. Everyone can help us. I myself, when I’m away, will have someone else to do the job”.
If Fernando Diniz’s team will have to deal with important absences on the field, outside the four lines the massive support of the crowd can be a differential for shirt 10: “I miss Maracanã, being close to our fans […]. There are already more than 30 thousand [torcedores]? Let it reach 50, 60 thousand. We have a very long payback. If we continue this unbeaten record, making our score at home, we can reach the high point of the table, which is our goal”.
Cuiabá, on the other hand, is in a delicate situation in the competition, inside the relegation zone with only 20 points. In addition, Dourado has not won for four matches in the Brazilian (adding three defeats and a draw).
