Covid-19 balance: there are 1,275 new cases, 24 registered deaths and a national positivity of 1.91%

The Ministry of Health reported this Sunday of 1,275 new cases of COVID-19, with a positivity of 1.91% in the last 24 hours at the national level, with 58,651 examinations, PCR and antigen tests.

The Minister of Health, Enrique Paris, reported that “at the national level, the new confirmed cases in the last 7 days vary by -12% and the new cases in the last 14 days vary by -34%.”

The positivity in the Metropolitan Region is 1% and 9 regions have a positivity less than or equal to 2% and 11 regions decrease their cases in the last seven days and 14 do so in the last two weeks.

Paris pointed out that “a decrease in positivity is maintained at the national level. If the previous Sunday, that is, 7 days ago, it was reported 2.35%, today a positivity of 1.91% is reported. Likewise, and for the fourth consecutive day, active cases reach less than 8,800. These figures indicate the good epidemiological moment in such an important day for the country, where the new President of Chile will be elected. “

Of the 1,275 new cases, 22% are diagnosed by antigen test, 29% originate by Active Case Search (BAC) and 29% of those notified are asymptomatic. Meanwhile, the Metropolitan Region presents 24% by antigen, 21% by BAC and 21% of the reported cases are asymptomatic.

According to sampling, the regions with the highest positivity are Los Lagos, Aysén, Valparaíso and Biobío. Meanwhile, the Los Lagos region registers the highest incidence rate in the country per 100,000 inhabitants, followed by the Aysén, Los Ríos and Biobío regions.

Daily report

According to this Sunday’s report, of the 1,275 new cases of COVID-19, 807 correspond to symptomatic people and 325 do not have symptoms. In addition, 143 Positive PCR tests were recorded that were not reported.

The total number of people who have been diagnosed with COVID-19 in the country reaches 1,791,776. Of this total, 8,364 patients are in the active stage. The recovered cases are 1,739,274.

Regarding deaths, according to the information provided by the DEIS, in the last 24 hours there were 24 deaths from causes associated with COVID-19. The total number of deaths is 38,864 in the country.

To date, 626 people are hospitalized in Intensive Care Units, of which 522 are on mechanical ventilation support. In relation to the Integrated Health Network, there is a total of 239 critical beds available for the patient who requires it, regardless of the region where they are.

Regarding the Laboratory Network and diagnostic capacity, the results of 58,651 PCR tests and antigen tests were reported, reaching a total of 26,754,880 analyzed nationwide to date. The positivity for the last 24 hours at the country level is 1.91% and in the Metropolitan Region it is 1%.
